A Krone Box (officially called a Telephone Distribution Point or DP Box) is a secure enclosure used in telecommunications, IT, and internal telephone systems (EPABX). It acts as a central hub where multi-pair telephone cables and data wires are organized, terminated, and distributed to different extensions or end-user lines. The name comes from Krone GmbH, the German telecommunications company that invented the LSA-PLUS system. This system uses specialized plastic modules with metal clips inside the box to connect wires without soldering or stripping insulation.
