The SC/UPC Simplex Fiber Optic Adapter is a passive, high-precision component designed to link two single-mode SC-terminated fiber patch cables or pigtails together. It features a rectangular, push-pull mechanical latching mechanism that ensures a reliable, quick-snapping connection inside network frameworks.
Molded from durable, flame-retardant blue plastic, it follows standard industry color-coding to denote an Ultra Physical Contact (UPC) fiber end-face polish. Internally, a high-grade ceramic (zirconia) alignment sleeve maintains highly accurate physical contact between the two inserted fiber cores, keeping data attenuation to an absolute minimum. To protect the delicate internal mating interface from dust, moisture, and debris when left unpatched, the adapter comes equipped with removable black vinyl dust caps on both entry ports.
